At this Bed and Breakfast, you might be served lox and bagels with all the fixin's 1 day, artichoke & sundried tomato quiche, blintz souffle, or French toast with homemade blueberry sauce the next. If you prefer to sleep late and help yourself, you might find a ready-to-heat artichoke and cheese casserole, a chilled bowl of black cherry and yogurt soup, or an Israeli or Mexican salad plate. Always available: juice, fresh fruit, eggs, breakfast meats, cold and hot cereal, specialty breads and spreads, coffee and teas, and homebaked treats (bet on blueberry or cranberry almond tarts and chocolate chip something!) Breakfasts to go for early morning birders, hikers, or Gem Show participants are a specialty. DESCRIPTION: Inn has 3 available guest bedrooms - 1 with king bed (pillowtop Beautyrest mattress, down comforter, and choice of pillows) and insuite bathroom and direct access to patio/hot bathtub/pool area (optional: single inflatable Aerobed for a child); 1 with queen bed (Beautyrest pillowtop mattress) and single daybed, and 1 with queen bed (Beautyrest pillowtop mattress). Queen rooms use two hall bathrooms. Patio has barbecue grill and 6 ft wrought iron safety fence separating it from a large swimming pool and hot bath-tub area. (Pool service takes care of pool, which can be heated in winter, but which is very expensive.) Part of patio is under roof with ceiling fan, pingpong table, and outdoor refrigerator. Front yard is natural desert landscaping, with Japanese-style garden and rockfall fountain in entrance court yard and view of the beautiful Catalina mountains, also visible from dedicated dining area area and livingroom windows. Lots of birdfeeders, birdguides available. Jogging and biking trails adjacent to house...wash (dry river bed, wadi) at end of street. I have an indoor cat and, in December 2012, will be acquiring 2 friendly dogs. My friends, relatives, and B&B guests call my home and bed and breakfast Club Sharon for all of its on-site or nearby recreational facilities. Nearby is a 300 acre swim/tennis/workout center with cheap temporary memberships, Arizona National Golf club, and many walking trails, and a fenced dogpark Bed and Bagels of Tucson is 12 mis from the University of Arizona, about 15 mis from downtown and 17-19mis from the airport, depending on route taken. I (your host) am a psychologist in private practice who formerly directed a federally-funded Alzheimer's rehabilitation research project at the University of Arizona. I'm also a volunteer naturalist at Sabino Canyon recreation area and a leader with the Sierra Club Inner City Outings program. Wildlife likely to be seen near house: coyotes, rabbits, javelinas (look like wild pigs - actually collared peccaries), squirrels, chipmunks, many species of birds - most typical: quail, cactus wren, Gila woodpecker, roadrunner, several species of hummingbirds. House is in neighborhood of horse farms and estates.
