Taos Goji Eco Lodge and Farm is nestled in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. These charming, historic log cabins are in close proximity to Taos (11 miles) and the Taos Ski Valley and Red River (30 minutes). Fullly furnished, and situated on a 40 acre goji berry farm, the cabins are surrounded by national forest with a great view of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. All cabins have fully equipped kitchens and batrooms with either a shower or a bathtub and a separate laundry facility. Wi-fi free zone on part of the property. Cook you own food or order a gourmet breakfast for $10/person. Gas heaters and a pot belly stove to keep you warm. There is a laundry facility on the property and a play ground for children. There is also larger cabins and casitas on the property available for rental. Please inquire. Originally designed to house sheep herders. Aldous Huxley and D.H. Lawrence lived and wrote in the cabins. They are renovated, but still have the rustic country feel! We raise organic goji berries and have baby chickens and mini goats. We also have an eco-lodge with either 2 single or full beds or larger rustic log cabins and adobe casitas for rent short & longer term. The land has creeks, ponds, aspens and cottonwood trees, flower gardens, stone paths, goji, raspberry and apple orchards and great views of the mountains. We use only green cleaners and recycle. These historic casitas and cabins offer a great country retreat for writers and artists, couples who seek solitude and families who would like to experience living on a farm in the country side. It is a great place to just to to kick back in, take walks or fish. Our place is also a bird sanctuary and a couple of dedicated bird watchers counted up tp 100 different species! There is a play ground outside and we are adding animals to our petting zoo. Drinking water comes from our deep wells. During summer we have fresh, organic vegetables available to guests and during late summer and fall there are plenty of apples to pick. Beginning in mid-April, gourmet breakfasts and dinners are available at extra charge. Massages, baby sitting and horse trail rides are available by appointment. We are located in the countryside and city slickers may be dismayed by the lack of street lights and the quietude at night. Our internet connection gets spotty during rain storms and snow. Depending on your cell phone provider you may have to drive to the post office or up the road to get reception. (We have several landlines to enable connection anywhere in the U.S.) We're not a motel or hotel: these are clean, rustic country cabins, a perfect place for creative individuals drive who desire to take a break from the hustle and bustle of civilization or to bring your children to appreciate country living. This is also an introduction to camping or glamping for families who want a degree of country comfort. This is a place to get away from the TV and computer games.
