It is a luxury Southland Log Home constructed with 8" pine logs. You can walk to downtown Banner Elk in less than 10 minutes to indulge at the lodge for a hot chocolate or an ice cream, or drive a short 4 miles to the top of Beech Mountain or 3 miles to the entrance of Sugar Mountain.The Hummingbird Log Cabin has a beautiful maze of slate garden path decorated with over a hundred different flowering plants that leads you onto the front covered porch. This lovely porch stretches the length of the house, where one can enjoy a cup of coffee while peacefully sitting on the swinging bench looking up to Beech Mountain.Upon entering the log home, you are welcomed by a beautiful log stairway leading up to the second floor. There is also a hummingbird engraved in the floor with mosaic tile, plenty of coat hooks and a full coat closet, and a half bath. As you move into the great room you can enjoy the soaring ceiling and the 25 foot stone fireplace with a crackling wood burning fire warming the ambiance.Throughout the great room of the house, there are beautiful oak hardwood wood floors. Cable TV is wired through the home to a TV in each bedroom, the pool room, and the living room. The living room has a large flat screen TV with a DVD/VCR and stereo to compliment the comfortable oversized great room which also has a high top game table and a beautiful antique full log desk for reading or work. Plenty of light fills the room in early morning yet there is plenty of privacy. During the beautiful season in the mountains, you can sit on the rear deck on the teak furniture, and grill some steaks and enjoy the outdoors. There is a hot tub on the deck, just off the master bedroom, which has sliding doors to go outside. The rear deck spans the length of the house, like the front porch, and has three access points.The gourmet kitchen is the favorite place for many who have stayed here to enjoy either cooking or simply eating delicious food with wonderful company. There isa large pantry, washer/dryer, pull out spice racks, a full size convection oven, microwave and an island gas cooktop with a downdraft. A large side by side refrigerator with auto ice/water will allow you to keep all the necessary items you require for your culinary delights. If you make a mess there is a dishwasher and sink disposal to help you clean up. There is a coffee machine, toaster and a toaster oven in the midst of lots granite counters space which will make it easy for you to organize each meal for your stay. The dining area is in front of the kitchen and beside the great room and actually it is all really one large integrated space.The master bedroom is on the main floor with a comfortable king size bed, TV, and a super sized walk in closet. Inside the master suite is a private bathroom with two sinks, a Jacuzzi soaking tub for two, and a walk in tiled shower.Upstairs are two extra large bedrooms and a bathroom with a balcony overlooking the great room below. The kid's bedroom has a full bed and a tented twin with a trundle, comfortably sleeping 4. There is also a secret reading nook which often has doubled as an additional sleeping loft for a 5th sleeping spot. There is a TV/DVD plus a lot of space to play making this room one the kids will always remember. The other bedroom is similar in size, has a reading nook, TV/DVD, a queen bed and a twin. Both bedrooms have very large closets and ceiling fans.On the lower level is the game room with a pool table, ping pong table, magnetic darts and many games to enjoy. There is a TV with video player, with a comfortable queen sleeper sofa and a full bathroom with a great shower. A large two car garage comes in handy when unloading, or on a rainy day.*************************** SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS *************************This home is shown as a 4 bedroom in the search setting, but we want to be clear about the sleeping arrangements:- Main Floor has master bedroom with large walk-in closet, a king bed and a private master bath with Jacuzzi tub and tiled shower and 2 sinks- Large Queen Bedroom Upstairs with an additional log twin bed. There is also small reading or napping loft nook if needed for one more- Large Bedroom with a Full sized bed, a twin bed with another trundle twin, comfortably sleeping 4 people. There is also a little loft nook accessed by a bunk bed ladder where someone could snuggle up and read, or place a sleeping bag for a cozy sleeping spot.- What we are calling the 4th bedroom is really just the game room downstairs. We separate it out this way, because it is another private area with a door and a full bath. There is a comfortable Queen sized pull out couch.- One other comfortable sleeping spot, if needed, is the large living room couch. It is not a pull out, just a large comfortable couch.So as you can see from the beds/couches laid out here, there are actual beds for 11, then there are two nooks that could accept one sleeping bag each, and the living room couch.
