We purchased a Living Social Deal for Alta Ranch, reserved August 13, 14 with check out on the 15th and have to back out. Call me if you are interested, the cabin "Moose Crossing" normally rents for 175 per night, total for this once in a lifetime opportunity is $185.00 for two nights & three days! Moose Crossing offers a spectacular view of the ranch and mountains. The cabin accommodates up to four people in two bedrooms, each with two twin beds (either or both of which can be converted to a king). It is our newest vacation rental and is about 100 yards from Alta Vista. The West Fork of the Bitterroot flows below the property. It also has a corral if you want to bring your horses. The cabin features two bedrooms, full kitchen, one bathroom and living room. It also has a washer and dryer and TV.The Alta Ranch is tucked away in a picturesque and pristine setting in the Bitterroot Mountains 90 miles south of Missoula, Montana and 30 miles southwest of Darby, Montana. With five vacation homes (authentic log cabins) on 150 acres, the Alta Ranch offers plenty of privacy and room to roam.Two-thirds of a mile of the upper West Fork of the Bitterroot River flows through the ranch. Enjoy excellent walk-and-wade cutthroat trout fishing on the ranch all year round in the river or large rainbow-stocked private pond or visit the Selway, Salmon, Bitterroot, and Big Hole rivers nearby.Watch moose, elk, deer, and a variety of small mammals, waterfowl, bald eagles, osprey and other birds from the porch of your private, hand-hewn log cabin nestled in the pines. Other things to do on the ranch include canoeing, gold panning, hiking, biking, campfires, cross country skiing, skating, snowshoeing, and good old relaxing.
