This masonry Mediterranean style villa with Colonial Revival and Arts & Crafts influence was built about 1925 and probably designed by noted New Orleans architect William Nolan. This 3000 square feet house has been recently restored and is luxuriously furnished with many original family antiques. It has 3 bedrooms (3 full and 4 single beds -- will sleep 7 people comfortably), 1 bath, a large living room, dining room, a fully furnished kitchen, laundry room, and a screened in sitting porch with magical views of sunrises and sunsets overlooking vast, verdant sugar cane fields. The house boasts wooden floors, 5 fireplaces, and vintage ceiling fans that hang from 10.5 foot ceilings throughout the house. The house is surrounded by an acre of quiet, secluded gardens with many historic pass-along plants, including old roses, gingers, clerodendrons, jasmines, salvias, crinum lilies, bananas, and heirloom blue ribbon sugarcane. This is an ideal place for nature's lovers, hunters, and fishermen. The Gulf of Mexico, deep basins and mysterious bayous abound. Many towns have gorgeous architecture and great little shops. The music, food and warm hospitality are unique to South Louisiana and will fill your stay with wonderful memories.
