Your home away from home is at the Lion's Gate Pines Lodge in downtown Winter Park, within walking range of numerous dining establishments and stores. The resort showcases a heated outdoor pool and 2 jacuzzis, an entertainment space, laundry facility, cordless internet, and practical access to downtown and many location activities. The resort is only 67 miles from Denver with the beauty of the Continental Divide towering around you. Winter season Park is the mountain biking capital of Colorado, with excellent trails in all directions, plus a remarkable paved trail along the Fraser River for the whole household (that goes on for miles). There are wonderful hiking tracks, as well, for all capabilities. Local outfitters provide river rafting trips on the Colorado River for the day. The Winter Park ski area base also offers the lengthiest mountain alpine slides in Colorado (2 of them), miniature golf, a big maze for the entire household, climbing up walls, and other activities. Lovely Grand Lake (Colorado's largest natural lake surrounded by snow-capped peaks) and Rocky Mountain National Park (with unlimited wildlife and views) are only a short distance away, as is Blackhawk for small stakes betting. The system sleeps as much as 8 and has more than 1700 square feet. It features 3 rooms, 21/2 baths, a full kitchen, living area, dining area, and gas fireplace. The bedroom has a king bed, while each of the other 2 bedroom has 2 single beds, and the living area has a queen pull-out sleeper sofa. The Lion's Gate Pines Lodge is at 55 Lion's Gate Road in Winter Park, Colorado 80482, one block off of Highway 40 in downtown Winter Park.
