DescriptionBathrooms: 1Square Feet: 1,000Hey folks!I have a private room available in small 3 BR. It's located in safe, convenient, laid back neighborhood with excellent transportation. Free wireless. 1 block to two trains and express buses will easily take you to all points in the City. 10 mins to the beach. 15 mins to downtown and most tourist attractions. Cafes, artist studios, restaurants, specialty stores, interesting shopping, an historic movie house, library (w/ a large Chicago travel section) and bookstores in the hood. Clubs and entertainment districts within walking distance or quick train ride. Nice gym and indoor pool in nearby neighborhood park........................... Now, just a couple things to know about the place...............................First, no TV or cable. Sorry. Bring your laptop (and headphones) if you want to watch something online. Second, the room is furnished with an airbed (pictured). It's a queen size bed and very comfortable. ...........Finally, a couple "insider" tips to make your Chicago visit more enjoyable...........First, when you arrive, buy a transit pass. Strangely, they're difficult to find. For the most part, they're only available at airports and Currency Exchanges. But they're a bargain and worth seeking out. 1 day, 3 day and 7 day passes are US$5.75, $15 and $23, respectively. Search "Currency exchange, Chicago" for the nearest location. Otherwise, pick up a pass when your plane arrives.Second, the best way (by far) to see Chicago is by bike. If this is a feasible option for you, consider renting or buying a 2 wheeler while you're here.(Several local non profits sell used bikes for less than you can rent, with proceeds going to humanitarian causes. I can provide links when you reserve the room.)Both trains and buses allow bikes onboard. A network of bike lanes runs throughout the city. And you can't beat enjoying the lakefront by bike dramatic views, crashing waves, loads of fun and, whether by sunlight or moonlight, an intimate view of Chicago's poetic side. You'll take home memorable moments (and some great pics).Just a couple tips to get you going. Glad to give you more when you make a reservation.
